GJIL co-lead Alfred Hermida is joining the Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism as a Visiting Fellow for the fall. He will spend the Michaelmas term at the institute at the University of Oxford.
During his fellowship, Hermida will focus on how the future of journalism is being shaped by innovation practices, business models and policy frameworks.
Hermida is one of two Visiting Fellows at the Reuters Institute. The other is Barkha Dutt, one of India’s best known broadcast journalists. She is the founder-editor of digital platform Mojo Story and a columnist with the Washington Post and the Hindustan Times.
During her Visiting Fellowship, she will look at the intersection of media, populism, politics, freedom and democracy.
The Reuters Institute accepts a small number of Visiting Fellowships from senior journalists or scholars working in fields related to its research projects.
GJIL co-lead Mary Lynn Young was a Visiting Fellow at the Reuters Institute in 2016.
